What is Chitrakar?

Chitrakar 2026 is not just a competition — it’s a movement of creativity. Organized by NS Kumbar Art Academy, it celebrates art in its purest form by offering a global platform for artists to showcase their work.

Participants can use mediums such as pencil, color pencils, oil, acrylic, watercolor, and poster colors — all under the inspiring theme “Art Within You.”

Based in  Bangalore, NS Kumbar Art Academy is a creative hub founded by the acclaimed artist N.S. Kumbar. The academy nurtures creativity and confidence among learners from children as young as 3.5 years to adults mastering advanced techniques.

Through specialized programs, exhibitions, and competitions like Chitrakar, the academy has become one of India’s most respected art institutions.

Who Can Participate?

The competition welcomes artists from age 3.5 years and above there’s no upper age limit!

Every age group has its own category, ensuring fair judgment and opportunities for all.

Note: Entry fees apply and vary depending on the participant’s category.

Theme: Art Within You

This beautiful theme encourages participants to discover their creative identity and express what art means to them personally.

Mediums Allowed: Pencil, Color Pencil, Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, and Poster Color.

Selection Round: Online submission round.

Certificate: All participants receive a Digital Certificate of Appreciation.

Exhibition & Artwork Guidelines

Selected participants will be invited to exhibit their original artworks at the Chitrakar Exhibition & Awards 2026.

They’ll be responsible for shipping their artwork by the given deadlines.

Awarded artworks will remain with the Chitrakar team as part of the event’s legacy collection.
